<p>Diamond Sports offered a sports career seminar for students at the Bobby Valentine&#8217;s Sports Academy in Stamford, CT on March 20th. Panelists shared tips and techniques on developing and planning to enter the field, led by ESPN Analyst, former Manager and Entrepreneur Bobby Valentine, who  shared his thoughts and insight into his unique career  during the Diamond Sports &#8220;PreGame Show&#8221; Seminar. Bobby was joined by Rod Mergardt, National PR Director for CBS MaxPreps, and Shane Beardsley, PR and Communications Director with the Bridgeport SoundTigers. Students came from all over the NY Metro area to listen to the speakers, who also engaged with the audience in a Q and A, which focused on developing internships, positioning their personal brand, engaging with mentors who could help &#8221;polish their assets&#8221; and put themselves in a position to<a rel="attachment wp-att-948" href="http://diamondsportscareers.com/?attachment_id=948"></a><a rel="attachment wp-att-950" href="http://diamondsportscareers.com/bobby-valentine-appears-at-diamond-sports-career-seminar/attachment/017/"></a><a rel="attachment wp-att-976" href="http://diamondsportscareers.com/?attachment_id=976"></a> win.</p>

<p>A standing room only audience of students, educators and aspiring career professionals gathered at Grand Prix NY in Mt. Kisco to hear from an outstanding panel of leaders from the sports business community in Northern Westchester, as Diamond Sports presented &#8220;The PreGame Show&#8221; on Thursday, December 10th.</p>
<p>Attendees heard about career tips and techniques, and lessons learned, from Glen Arbor PGA Head Pro, author and TV/Radio host Brian Crowell, CBS/Max Preps PR Director Rod Mergardt, Cofounder and author Jordan Kern of My Sports Dreams, and former CBS and NBC media executive and founder of MAR$AR Sports Mark Jeffers.</p>
<p>Walter Recher, Cofounder and Managing Director of Diamond Sports Careers moderated, and provided the audience with insight into the growing, global sports business industry.</p>
<p>Following the Diamond Sports presentation on sports industry trends, developments, and education programs, each of the panelists shared their views on employer issues, the impact of media and communications, the importance of networking, the advantages and challenges for today&#8217;s student athlete, and developing internship opportunities in the sports capital of the world.</p>
